We will be hosting our annual math night, What's Cooking at James Monroe? on Thursday, January 23, 2025. The night will include demonstrations and presentations by Maschio's nutritionist and chef, James Monroe's very own cookbook author, Mr. Michael Fernandez, and members of the John Adams Middle School FCCLA club. Families will participate in various activities, including a family "cook" session. We are looking forward to a delicious night!

More exciting news from the JPS Orchestra!
Ten of our students have been accepted into CJMEA Region Orchestra. A special "note" goes to Leilani Gopal (1st Chair Violinist, concert mistress) and Neha Thota (1st Chair Viola). Also, bassist Howard Xu was accepted into ALL Eastern Orchestra. Finally, a group of students performed at the Sunrise of Basking Ridge seniors home.
It has been an exciting winter for the JPS Orchestra. Congratulations Hawks!

On December 12th Ms. May and her Engineering Design 2 and Honors 3 students competed at the Union County Community College Annual Bridge Building Competition. Overall JP Stevens took 2nd, 5th, and 9th place out of 20 bridges! One of our teams also won the most appealing bridge! Students are given specifications that the bridges have to hit but the design is completely up to the students. Congratulations Hawks!








We are thrilled to share that 3 students from the JPS Choir Program have been selected for the NAFME All-Eastern Honor Choirs! This is a remarkable achievement since they were chosen out of 11 states in the Northeast amongst thousands of other applicants.

The John P . Stevens High School Band is proud to announce that a staggering 33 students from their program were selected by audition to the 2024-25 Central Jersey Region Band. These students represent the highest number from any one school in Central New Jersey! (13 seniors, 9 juniors, 7 sophomores, 4 freshmen).


Three JPS band students were accepted to perform at the Biannual NaFMe All-Eastern Division band concert last weekend in April. The All-Eastern Band is selected every other year, taking the top All-State students from 11 states around the NorthEast Coast (PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, MD, NH, ME, VT, RI, DE). Congrats to Christopher Juan, Justin Ni, & Taran Vakkada!


Thank you to Professor (and EHS alumnus) Jonathan Finnerty from Middlesex College for engaging with EHS students about Social Contract Theory as part of their second Public Philosophy Project session this year. And again, thank you to CTE's very own Ms. Heath and her Foods classes for the snacks!
