Response to Intervention
Grades 6-12 in Edison Schools will provide a robust Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) or otherwise known as Response to Intervention (RTI). Thanks to the support of the Board of Education, a number of much needed math and ELA interventionists were hired in order to be able to address the needs of identified students systematically and by teachers with the training and background to help different learners progress. Data drives the determination as to whether students are in need of support from an interventionist and for how long. RTI data teams consist of the supervisor, interventionists, and instructional coaches who review data every quarter. By providing timely, data-driven, systematic support for students identified in-need, the district is able to provide the kind of support that helps students get back on track and find greater success in their ELA and math classrooms.
