In a stunning upset, the J.P. Stevens girls’ soccer team defied the odds and shocked previously-undefeated Colonia, 3-1, last night on Colonia’s home field. Trailing 1-0 midway through the 2nd half, the Hawks got the equalizer when Dhoon Amin broke up the middle and scored. Jaslyn Chen got the eventual game-winner with 11 minutes remaining before Neha Thota added an insurance goal moments later for the final tally. The Stevens defense was inspiring all night long, led by Shruthi Srinivasan, Sonali Mukherjee, Aviah Mui, Madhuri Iyengar, and Avery Spaventa. Meanwhile, the solid midfield triangle of Anya Shetty, Sahasra Mendikar, and Pia Pandey held firm and denied multiple scoring opportunities. The game’s unsung hero was goalkeeper Shreya Singh, who made an absolutely amazing 18 saves, including 4 breakaway stops. With the win, J.P. moves to 3-1 in the White Division and can win the division championship with a win over Piscataway next week. GO HAWKS! 🟢🟡

NJ.com has named TODAY'S match against Colonia as "Can't-Miss"! Go Hawks 🟢🟡
via NJ.com:
Junior Jaslyn Chen has been impressive as can be for the Hawks to start the 2025 campaign. In four games, the junior has 10 goals and an assist to help J.P. Stevens get out to a 2-2 start. Colonia (3-0) has rolled past the likes of Woodbridge, Piscataway and Edison to begin its 2025 campaign, watching senior Abigail Araujo tally four goals and two assists in those three contests. Chen and the Hawks will be Colonia's first true test of the season in this crucial GMC White Division showdown.
