Rich, powerful learning experience for our Junior year STEM Academy students via the 24-25 Lemelson-MIT-Inven Team Grant. Our students are learning the hard way that innovative problem solving means prototyping and presenting, getting critical feedback, taking that feedback and using it to make your prototype and thinking better, and then repeat. Thanks Kristen Tsaoys and Jaslin Kaur for facilitating.

Each presentation included an annotated bibliography supporting their self-directed, interest-based, research topic as well as additional aspects to their presentation. A huge thank you to all the families and district staff members who attended, asking questions of the presenters and giving meaningful feedback to students.

Thank you to DMR Architects, Nikole Marin and Michael Pikowski, for sharing your career paths as well as various opportunities in the field of architecture.

Proud to share a moment of dedication and teamwork from our students, Mr. Joseph Teller, our night-time lead custodian, Mr. Pierce, and Mr. Robinson, our event organizer. Despite freezing temperatures and ground as hard as rock, this incredible group found innovative ways to plant over 500 flags for our upcoming Field of Flags celebration on Thursday. Their commitment and resilience reflect the values that make our community strong. This project honors and respects, not just those who serve, but the spirit of collaboration and perseverance within our own team. Thank you to everyone involved for showing what’s possible when we work together! Link: https://youtu.be/Zp0zBDI_jzA
