Amazing news for the JPS Art Program: 6 of our students were awarded at the Congressman Frank Pallone Jr.'s 6th Congressional District High School Art Competition Awards ceremony on Saturday! JPS received the most awards from any school in the 6th Congressional District, 6 out of 18 total! Most impressive was junior Siqi Ye's 1ST PLACE win for the entire competition! Her painting "Tired Man" will be hung in the Cannon Tunnel in Washington DC for 1 year.

Yesterday, four members of the Milltown Rescue Squad volunteered their time to teach the Biomedical students proper techniques for assessing the scene, lifting and moving injured patients, and splinting. The Biomedical students got to practice securing necks as they rolled a patient onto a backboard, learned proper strap placement to secure the patients on different medical equipment, and learned how to use a stair chair. The Biomedical students ended their time by practicing splinting arms and legs. It was a fun-filled learning experience for all!
Thank you so much to Laura Holborow for organizing this and to Evelyn Nguyen (former JPS student), Lily Schneider, Demi Gamel, and Katie Paredes for their time and knowledge.

Thank you all for the support of our relationship with ACE. We are so excited to announce that Therese May, our teacher at JP, and advisor for these students has been chosen to serve on the board of directors. 🗼🎤💃🎨 Grade 8 students of French, along with their teachers Mme Haggard and Mme Tesla, participated in the month-long Manie Musicale, a bracket-style competition of francophone music for schools around the globe. Students practice French by learning about the artists and their songs, and many students engage by singing, dancing or creating art to demonstrate their understanding. Congratulations to our bracket prize-winners Enzo Alvarez Larroza, Juan De Gregorio Costa, Reign Steel, and Ritika Kolluru! To hear the competition playlist, visit
