Through the support of JPS's FCCLA chapter, Siyona Deb, Nandini Arora, and Saiesha Joshi developed and implemented a successful community service initiative focused on addressing food insecurity in our local community. They assembled 45 meal kits containing non-perishable food items and detailed, easy-to-follow, nutritious recipes designed to help families prepare healthy meals with confidence.

The meal kits were donated to the Hands of Hope Food Pantry, where they helped serve approximately 200 individuals and families throughout the Middlesex County area. In recognition of their outstanding efforts and impact, the students were awarded a $2,500 grant through Explore.Act.Tell, a national competition that recognizes innovative projects addressing food insecurity.

This achievement highlights the students’ commitment to community service, leadership, and advocacy. Building on the success of this initiative, they plan to continue raising awareness about food insecurity and expanding their efforts to support families in need.

We are so proud of their hard work and dedication to this community service project!

Yesterday, 28 Business Law & Ethics students from JPS visited the U.S. District Courthouse in Trenton, NJ. Our students met with The Honorable Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, the first Muslim-American federal judge in U.S. history. The students had a 75-minute wide-ranging conversation with the judge in his courtroom, where we discussed his career, a day in the life of a federal judge, some of his most challenging cases, and how he interacts with his staff of clerks and interns (whom we met as well). The highlight of the trip: we had the special privilege of being invited by the judge to tour his chambers, to see what goes on "behind the scenes" of a courtroom.
