Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)


How do I enroll my student(s)?

All enrollments can be completed online; you are no longer required to visit the Enrollment Center.  Our new online Registration Gateway system is for NEW enrollments only.  All other enrollments should be processed via the Edison Online Registration system.

What documents are required for a new enrollment?
  1. Child's birth certificate/passport/or other official document indicating legal name and age
  2. Immunization record
  3. Four (4) proofs of Edison residency dated within the last 60 days (you may register with 1 but will be required to provide an additional 3 within 30 days)
  4. Parent/guardian photo ID

What if my student(s) has already attended school in Edison?

If your child has attended school in Edison but has not been in Edison Schools for MORE than 90 days then you will need to complete a Previously Enrolled registration.  If your child is returning to Edison after having been out of the District for LESS than 90 days, please complete a Re-enrollment.  Both can be done through the Edison Online Registration system.

How do I process a Change of Address?

All Change of Address requests can be processed online through the Edison Online Registration system. Please be prepared to upload the Parent/Guardian photo ID and four (4) proofs of Edison residency.

How do I apply for a seat for my child in the Preschool Expansion Program?

Edison Township Public School's Preschool Program provides programming for a portion of Edison's 3 & 4 year old children. Enrollment is based on a tiered lottery system. Please visit the district's Preschool Expansion Initiative page for directions on how to pre-register/apply for entry into the lottery. 

How do I register for new incoming Special Education Pre-school?

All new incoming Special Education Pre-school requests can be processed online through the Edison Online Registration system.  Please be prepared to upload the following:

  1. Child's birth certificate/passport/or other official document indicating legal name and age
  2. Immunization record
  3. Four (4) proofs of Edison residency dated within the last 60 days (you may register with 1 but will be required to provide an additional 3 within 30 days)
  4. Parent/Guardian photo ID
How do I withdraw my student from the District?

To request a Transfer Card to withdraw your student, please email your child's school directly.  Be sure to include:  Student's name/ID#, student's new home address, the name/address of the new school, and include a copy of the parent/guardian's photo ID.  You will also need to return all devices and books to the school as well.

How do I withdraw my student if they are Out-of-district - Special Education?

Please inform your student's Case Manager. Next, email enrollment.registration@edison.k12.nj.us to initiate the withdrawal process.  Include:   Student's name/ID#, name of school the student attended, student's new home address, the name/address of the new school, and include a copy of the parent/guardian's photo ID.
