• JMI Grade 5 Robotics Club

Applications were due September 20, 2017.  No more applications are being accepted.

The JMI Robotics Club is a joint effort between the JP Stevens High School Robotics team and James Madison Intermediate (JMI). A grant provided by the JPS organization helps to finance the purchase of JMI’s robotic materials. Mrs. Benson and Mrs. O'Brien, along with JPS student mentors, assist the team of 5-7 students in learning how to build, program and design tasks for the robot.

The JMI Robotics Club is a member of and competes in FIRST LEGO League events. Students in FIRST LEGO League teams collaborate to build and program autonomous robots to score points on a thematic playing surface (the Robot Game) and create an innovative solution to a program correlated to the yearly theme (the Project), all while guided by the FLL Core Values. These three elements: the Robot Game, the Project, and FLL Core Values make up what is called “The Challenge.”

In 2013, the James Madison Intermediate School robotics team, “The RoboKnightMares” took seventh place out of twenty-four schools at the LegoRobotics competition held at Hillsborough High School.
