Nothing Less Than Excellence

Superintendent's Update

April 3, 2020 Community Letter - From Superintendent Bernard F. Bragen, Jr., Ed.D.

Dear Edison School Community Members,

At this time, I want to compliment everyone for all their hard work during our rapid transition to our remote learning program that now concludes its third week. This feat would not have been possible without the collaboration and perseverance from all involved parties, and I remain eternally grateful for all their efforts. I remain hopeful our professionals, students, and families can enjoy some much-earned and much-needed time off from our remote learning environment. Although it may be difficult, it is very important that everyone attempts to find some other relaxing activities during our Spring Break next week (April 6-10). In addition, I encourage everyone to continue to practice appropriate social distancing and to refrain from using our school playgrounds and/or sports fields where groups of children often congregate. During this time, when school is not in session, we must continue to be vigilant in our shared efforts as a community to help flatten the curve of this terrible virus.

We currently anticipate the remote learning program to continue after Spring Break and at least until the end of April. We will continue to monitor this situation and adjust the duration of the remote learning program accordingly. Please check our website regularly for updates.

Be well, stay safe, and continue to Shine Bright Edison!
