WASHINGTON SCHOOL
BAND and ORCHESTRA
Remoh Mosley, Teacher
We are proud to be able to offer instrument lessons to our 4th and 5th grade students here at Washington School! Under the direction of professional musician Remoh Mosley-Aviles, your child can study an instrument once a week, during the school day. The students will present a concert or recital at least twice a year (Winter/Spring). The instrument choices vary from Band and Orchestra.
Band instruments consist of the Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, and Percussion (Drums). Orchestra instruments consist of the Violin, Viola*, and the Cello. The orchestra instruments come in a size to fit the individual needs of your child. The Band instruments are the full size that an adult would play. This should be a consideration when choosing and instrument and the teacher can assist in that process.
*Viola- The viola is similar to the violin and often times gets overlooked. It is a vital voice in the orchestra. Many colleges and universities lack students who play viola and hence the scholarship opportunities.
