In 6^th grade social studies, we are currently learning about ancient China. The students will be analyzing the 3 major philosophies of the early dynasties…Legalism, Confucianism, and Daoism. After that, we will be learning about Qin Shi Huangdi and how he unified the territory that eventually named the country after him.  We will finish our unit discussing the Han dynasty, the legacy of ancient China, and the accomplishments like the Great Wall, military advancements, and contributions from math and science.  We will also be celebrating China Day on May10^th to let the students experience a variety of Chinese activities. 

During the month of May, we will continue our studies in Chemistry.  Students will learn about physical and chemical changes, atoms, create models of molecules, elements, and begin to understand the periodic table of elements. We will read our textbook for comprehension, complete hands on labs, and other materials that will enhance our learning. Please check your child’s notebook on daily basis.  Students are very excited about our Chemistry unit.

Sixth Grade students are honing their skills and strategies in preparation for NJASK. Teachers are reviewing key concepts and applying Standards Solution strategies to their instruction.
