About our Guidance Department:
The School Counselor is a certified teacher, with a Master’s Degree in school counseling. I help the children find success in school by counseling them individually, in topical small groups and in delivering classroom guidance lessons that teach skills such as making good decisions, resolving conflicts peacefully and respecting others. A large part of my job is a school-wide focus on Character Education. The Six Pillars of Character (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship) are the foundations of which the counseling program is built. I work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers and administration to identify and remove barriers that may impede student achievement. I am also the building’s Anti-Bullying Specialist.
Counseling is provided on a full time basis. Parents, teachers and students themselves, can initiate counseling sessions. If you wish to receive counseling services for your child or for yourself to assist you in dealing with your child, please email or call me to make an appointment.
