Welcome to JMI’s School Counseling Corner!

My name is Stephen Miller and I am the counselor here at James Madison Intermediate School. I have worked with children, adolescents and teenagers of diverse backgrounds in various roles over the past decade.

I am available to help students and their families take on the academic, social and emotional challenges they face on a daily basis. Whether it is through individual counseling, small group meetings or classroom lessons, my goal is to empower children to make positive decisions and to take ownership of their actions.

Here at James Madison Intermediate School, we take bullying very seriously. In my role as the Anti-Bullying Specialist, I will work with students throughout the year to recognize unacceptable behaviors and teach appropriate ways of responding to bullying. If you have any concerns about your child and bullying, please contact myself or the school Principals as soon as possible. Please see the Anti-Bullying page for further information and resources. Also available on our website is the Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying reporting form used in our School District.

I am available to meet with parents should you have a concern about your child’s school experience. Please feel free to call me at (732) 452-2960 or email me to schedule an appointment.

I look forward to collaborating with all stakeholders to make this a successful school year!
