It is hard to describe the spirit and depth of James Madison Intermediate in just a few short lines. This building and these halls hold a fond place in our hearts for our students, parents, teachers and all who are involved in the education of our children. It is our hope that the children of JMI acquire a love of learning that will sustain them well into their future. This is accomplished by the rigor of our curriculum coupled with our caring teachers who truly understand the art of teaching. Engaging students in meaningful work, assessing their progress, and then designing new activities to challenge our students to achieve more is just part of what our teachers do here at JMI. In short, the staff at JMI hopes to help each child meet with success both personally and academically.
Another key component of the successful JMI school community is our parents. Our parents volunteer much of their time and energy to help create this warm learning environment for our children. Whether it is a fundraising activity, after-school academic challenge, or experiences created to support character building and volunteerism, our parents are amazing. The tone of JMI is greatly influenced by the caring nature of our parents, their involvement in our school, and the positive influence they have on their children.
To further enhance the positive atmosphere here at JMI we are participating in the Positive Behavior Support in Schools initiative or PBSIS. We have a team of several staff members and a parent who have completed many hours of training provided by the state, to develop incentives and programs at JMI to enhance our already positive school culture.
It is the combined efforts of our staff, parents and students that make JMI such a warm and inviting place for our children. Everyday our children journey forward to learn, to grow and to reach their full potential. Come stay for awhile and come join us on our journey.
Welcome to our community and to our school!
