Steve

At Benjamin Franklin School we value our tradition of excellence. Our goal is to develop and shape our students into passionate, confident, life long learners who have competence and strength of character. We want them to realize their aspirations and be prepared to contribute to a diverse and ever changing world.

The scope and magnitude of our responsibilities to our students, their parents, and the community, are infinite. Our words, actions and inactions have a profound impact on the lives we are responsible for. It is, therefore, that we offer nothing less than our best every day to succeed in providing everything we can in “making a difference”.

Each day our students recite the Pledge of Respect to create a family type environment. We are smart, special, valuable people. We respect ourselves and we respect others. Our words and actions are kind and honest. We accept only the best in all that we do. We are proud to be part of the Ben Franklin Family.

Ben Franklin School meets the needs of a diverse community. There are many opportunities for students to excel academically and socially. Our curriculum is an integrated approach which allows students to make connections among all subject areas. We believe that all children can learn, and it is our job to find their individual interests to ensure they are able to apply knowledge to real life. Socially, students have an opportunity to get involved in a Courtyard Club, Buddy Reading Program, Student of the Month, Student Council, Choir and Band.

Our very active Parent-Teacher Association provides many activities and events. This provides meaningful opportunities for our students which creates an extension of the curriculum and learning. Such activities as our annual Bingo Night, Pajama Jam, Math/Science Night, Family Fun Night and Variety Show demonstrate how we firmly believe that parent involvement is necessary to ensure student success.

As our student population continues to grow and change, we remain committed in maintaining an environment that is safe and appropriate. Each day emphasis is placed on “Character Education”. Students who attend Ben Franklin must be polite, respectful, good listeners and “think before acting”.

At Ben Franklin, students are taught that “Caring creates a respectful environment.” Our ability to work together will make a difference in the lives of our children.
