JMP SUMMER READING PROGRAM
(For children entering 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade in September, 2013)
Summertime is a great time to have fun with friends and family. It’s also a wonderful time to enjoy reading and learning about people and interesting events and facts.
The Summer Reading Program, sponsored by the PTO, aims to instill a love of reading in children in a fun and relaxed way. During the summer, encourage your child to read a variety of books. After reading the books together, enter the details on the reading log located on the back of this sheet.
Parents must sign the reading log once the child has completed reading the books.
Please make sure your Child’s name and the new Teacher’s name (September
2012) are printed clearly. Have your child bring the reading log to their new teacher by September 20th, 2013.
Ø A prize will be awarded to each child who reads 10 books or more during summer.
Ø In addition, there will be a raffle at each grade level for one of the $15 Scholastic Book Fair gift certificates (Book Fair to be held in November) for those children who read 20 books or more.
So visit the library (http://www.lmxac.org/edisonlib/) soon and get that summer reading started! The PTO wishes you and your family an enjoyable summer vacation.
If you have any questions, please contact the PTO at jmppto@gmail.com.
