Our young kindergarteners are continuing to work hard! Parents, please remember to check and empty your child’s folder daily. Homework will be given every day, so please be sure to complete and return.
Be mindful of the weather. Dress your child accordingly and keep practicing those self-help skills! (Zipping, Buttoning, Snapping, Tying laces, etc.) The classrooms do get hot as the temperature rises!
We are working on preparing the students for first grade by allowing them to become more independent in the classroom. Try and allow your child to become more independent at home by giving them responsibilities!
Our next unit of Journeys is focusing on comparing and contrasting, cause and effect and making conclusions. We will also be talking about visualizing and author’s purpose in our stories. Please continue to practice rhyming and letter sounds as well. Our words to know are: do, down, have, help, look, out, off, take. Try to read and use these words with your child daily and don’t forget to READ!
Our young Mathematicians need your help! Please encourage your students to use “Math Talk” when working on their homework. Some examples are: How do you know the answer? How are they the same? How are they different? Which group has more? Which group has fewer? We are currently working on spelling and ordering the Days of the Week and Months of the Year. Please practice this at home as well.
Funday is Friday, June 7th. We encourage you to send back the volunteer form. With your help, Funday can be a great success!
