2012-13

Third, fourth, and fifth grade classes held elections for Student Council room representatives in early October.  Those students running for room representative worked hard and showed all the pillars of character, but only two representatives from each class could be elected.

At our first meeting, the 40 eager representatives took notes about the upcoming events (leading the school in the flag salute every morning, fundraising, the food drive, school-wide recycling, etc.), suggested themes for School Spirit Fridays, and asked lots of questions about how to be effective student council representatives. 

As the nation prepares for the Presidential Election on November 6^th, Menlo Park’s fifth grade student council representatives running for office are busy preparing posters and speeches for our own Election Day on November 14^th. We wish all of these responsible, involved, and courageous students the best of luck in their endeavors. 

We are looking forward to having a great year with this amazing group of responsible citizens!
