The Division of Curriculum and Instruction can be described as the "engine" that drives teaching and learning in our school district.

 

The first section of this website provides basic information about curriculum. Programs are regularly assessed with guides being updated on a 5-year cycle. Copies of curriculum guides are available for a printing fee from the Curriculum and Instruction Office. Contact the Curriculum Office to obtain a curriculum guide.

At the elementary level, classes are heterogeneously grouped. In the middle and high schools, students are placed in ability groups. Placement criteria for grades 6 through 12 students includes "multiple measures" and should place students in classes that challenge learners.

 

Instruction is based on the district's ESSENTIAL INSTRUCTIONAL BEHAVIORS (EIBs). This rubric is used by administrators to evaluate teacher performance.
