Student Council Elections 2015
On Thursday, October 22nd, students in grades 3, 4 and 5 gathered outside for the Student Council Election Assembly. Twenty-five students ran for Student Council Officer Positions. Over the course of two weeks, students completed applications, created campaign posters and hung them all around the school and diligently drafted a speech. All candidates stood proudly before approximately 300 peers and told them how they were the best person for the job. The student body in the audience jotted key points made by the candidates in an effort to make an informed decision when voting. Back in their classrooms, students were able to vote using Google Forms and the Student Council co-advisors, Mrs. Perillo and Mrs. Jennings, carefully tabulated their results. Congratulations to all students who ran for an office - you all make Menlo proud! #menlopride

Walk to School Day 2015
On October 7th, Menlo Park students, families and staff members met at the Edison Light Tower and walked to school in honor of National Walk to School Day. Thanks to Sgt. Dudash and the Edison Police Department, everyone had a fun and safe walk to school. Once arriving at the school, the Menlo Park PTA provided the students with water and healthy snacks.

Kindergarten - Fifth Grade 1-1 Device Initiative
cb    ipad
In September, all students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth grade will have their own device provided by the district. Students in Kindergarten and First grade will receive an iPad while students in Second through Fifth grade will receive a Chromebook. Students who had a Chromebook during the 14-15 school year will not get the same Chromebook for the 15-16 school year.  While not a mandatory supply, there are cases available for the Chromebook through different vendors like Amazon. If you are interested in purchasing a cover for the Chromebook, please note that the device is a HP Chromebook 14 -SMB (14 inch screen).
Here are a sample of links where Chromebook cases can be purchased:
Once again, it is not a mandatory supply, but an option if you are interested. For the full list of grade level supplies, please click here
