  • Broadway Babies 2013

    On Friday night at J P Stevens auditorium, JMP students performed Broadway Babies. The show, under the direction of Noelle Tate and Ashley Nicole Delgado of Jersey Six Productions, included singing and dancing from various musicals. The performers practiced very hard for 2 weeks and gave a wonderful performance for family and friends. Congratulations to all who participated and thank you to all staff that assisted.

    To celebrate Read Across America, JMP had many special guest readers on Friday. Our guest readers stopped in and read a favorite book to the class. Among our special guests were Dr. O'Malley, Mayor Riccigliano, Mr Maeroff, Mrs. Griffin Ussak and many others from around the district. Thank you to everyone.

JMP SUMMER READING PROGRAM

(For children entering 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade in September, 2013)

Summertime is a great time to have fun with friends and family.  It’s also a wonderful time to enjoy reading and learning about people and interesting events and facts.

The Summer Reading Program, sponsored by the PTO, aims to instill a love of reading in children in a fun and relaxed way. During the summer, encourage your child to read a variety of books. Welcome to James Madison Primary School

 James Madison Primary School provides a positive learning environment, rich in literacy experiences and inquiry-based instruction, to students in kindergarten through grade two.  Given the age of the children that we teach, our staff prides itself on their ongoing commitment to providing instruction that is developmentally appropriate and designed to meet the varied needs of our young learners. 
   Our students are immersed in children's literature as we build the foundation for life-long reading.  Quality literature serves as a springboard for our writing instruction.  Our students participate in math instruction that incorporates the development of foundational skills and strategies.  Equal to our rigorous academic instruction is our commitment to strong character development and pro-social skills instruction.  Our students learn from a young age the importance of cooperation and collaboration as they work with partners, in small groups, and engage in whole-class activities.

   Visitors to the building will immediately notice the bright atmosphere and positive feeling tone that the building exudes.  Children's work is found throughout the building in lively colorful displays.  The building reflects the energy and productivity of our young learners.

  •  Mrs. Kunz's Class

    In 2003, Mrs. Kunz’s 2nd graders buried a time capsule.

    Now, 10 years later, as they are graduating from high school, they returned to unearth their treasures. 2013 must be a lucky year! The time capsule was dug up and treasured memories were shared.
