FINANCIAL LITERACY REQUIREMENT MAY BE SATISFIED IN SUMMER SCHOOL

A Personal Finance course will be offered this summer in a traditional classroom setting at EHS Summer School from 6/25-7/27. In addition, this course will be offered on-line with 24/7 access through NJ Virtual School. The Personal Finance course will satisfy the State graduation requirement that became effective for all students entering 9th grade on or after September 1, 2010.  There is no placement criteria, but applications must be submitted in advance for both the in class and on-line courses. Students will receive credit for the high school courses as listed above.  The course name, credits and grade will appear on the student’s high school transcript and the grade will be included in the student’s GPA calculation.  Tuition for the summer course offered at Edison High School will be $300 which is payable at the time of registration.  The on-line course tuition, set by NJ Virtual High School , is $350, though it may be reduced based on the number of Edison students that enroll.

This is offered as an option only. Students may continue to meet the Financial Literacy requirement by enrolling in either Banking and Finance OR Financial Fitness, semester courses offered during the school year at our high schools.

If students wish to take this course during the summer, they must notify their counselors of their intentions by April 30th by submitting the Summer Financial Literacy Form (click here).  Online registration for the traditional class will occur during the registration period for Edison Summer School. Details and dates for registration will be sent to you by email.  Online registration at www.njvs.org  for the NJ Virtual HS Course is from June 20th through July 9th.

Welcome to Woodrow Wilson

Woodrow Wilson Middle School is a remarkable school in which students relish in their academic pursuits while developing a strong sense of social consciousness. Academics are the thread around which all other programs are woven. Our school is recognized as a high performing institution, based on the results of the NJ state assessments.

The student body of over 850 abounds with cultural diversity, and the students embrace the richness of the blending of those cultures. Students live by the Six Pillars of Character Education, raising money for community needs, such as Lainie’s Angels, an organization that supports families of children with cancer. Students from WWMS exhibit responsibility, arriving early and staying late for extra help or co-curricular activities.  The school mascot, the Challenger, represents what all WWMS students strive to be; students willing to take on academic and community challenges.
