The MLK Learning Community "Walked for the Cure" on the school grounds. Lead by Mrs. Lubonski and Mrs. Squillace, kindergarten teachers at MLK School, the entire student population walked several laps around their fields in raising funds for a cure for cancer.
The MLK School learning community has adopted Memorial School in Union Beach, NJ. Students, staff, parents, and the wider community are reaching out for donations to support those affected by Hurricane Sandy through their "Adopt a School" endeavor.
MLk's resident gardener and retired teacher, Mrs. Louise Lippe, has once again gathered her flock of students in order to participate in the annual MLK's Garden Harvest. A first of several harvests, this community service project donates all the produce to Hands of Hope Food Bank.
